Welcome to Friendship Community Place!

Friendship Community Place (FCP) was birthed from the imagination and commitment of Friendship Presbyterian Church (FPC). As an inclusive congregation, FPC believes that the Church is called to partner and serve in our communities as agents of justice and compassion. With our most vulnerable members and neighbors in mind, we designed an organization that will center the needs of people living in Chicago's Northwest Side experiencing housing and food insecurity, those with physical disabilities or experiencing mental illness, as well as veterans, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC (black, indigenous, and people of color) to create a community center for sharing resources, building community and the development of skills and knowledge. In light of the history of segregation and systemic racism in our city, we have drawn on community organizing tools and antiracism training to identify our own biases and participate in the movement to address racial and socio-economic inequity in our community.
