Our commercial kitchen is available for hourly, half day, and full day rentals!

Friendship’s kitchen is a 330sqft commercial kitchen within Friendship Community Place. Because of this, you may see members of our community using other spaces at Friendship during your rental. Our kitchen is best suited for small teams or solo entrepreneurs. Our kitchen can only accommodate one rental at a time.

Because Friendship operates as a neighborhood hub throughout the week, you will see chunks of time that are unavailable to rent due to our programming. The kitchen is available 24/7 outside of our programming. Parking

There is a small parking lot behind Friendship that you can access via the alley between our building and the Extra Space Storage. You may use it during your rental with a parking tag provided by Friendship.

Cancellation Policy

You may cancel or reschedule your rental up to 120 hours (5 days) prior to the scheduled time. If a rental is cancelled or rescheduled after that time, you will be charged for 50% of your scheduled time.

We only ask that renters supply their own disposables, as well as cleaning the kitchen as part of their kitchen use, including all equipment, tables, and floors.

Our Rates

  • $35/hour

    Peak hours are from Monday - Sunday, 6am - 10pm.

  • $22/hour

    Off Peak Hours are Monday - Sunday, 10pm - 6am

  • Rolling storage lockers are available to rent for $50/month.

  • We have very limited refrigerator space available that is available on a first come, first serve basis.

    Refrigerator shelf 2’: $20/month

    At this time, we are not able to offer freezer space.

Getting Started with Friendship’s Kitchen

Your first step is to reach out to us at info@fpcchicago.org to schedule a showing of our kitchen. During the showing, we can discuss details pertinent to your rental, our rates, and answer any questions you have. After the showing, if you would like to move forward with renting, we will need the following things:

  • A valid City of Chicago Food Service Sanitation Certificate

  • Proof of liability insurance (minimum coverage of $1 million) with Friendship Community Place listed as additional insured

  • A valid Shared Kitchen User license for your business (short or long term) from the City of Chicago

Once these have been provided, Friendship will generate an Operating Agreement for you to sign. Once you’ve signed, you will be added to the Google Calendar that we use to manage our kitchen rentals. You will be able to reserve time directly from the calendar. Invoices will be issued monthly, accounting for your usage in the previous month. We take payment via Zelle and check.
